Neville Stanford – Founder, Primary Shareholder and Managing Director

Neville Stanford is a successful entrepreneur and innovator who has spent most of his career in the financial services and payments area. Prior to starting his own business he worked with Sperry Univac Computers in the UK, Europe, Turkey and South Africa promoting new technology to financial institutions. Neville founded Card Access Systems and Open Access Systems in Perth during the eighties and sold Open Access Systems to Olivetti in 1998. Both Card Access Services and Open Access Systems were financially successful and led their respective industries in terms of technology and innovation. Neville was General & Technical Manager of CUATM, Perth , and Technical Support Manager for Sperry Univac Computers in the UK, Europe, Turkey and South Africa . Neville is Member of Standards Committee IT2 and has a C&G Diploma in Telecommunications

Richard Colley – Technical Director

Richard has a Bachelor of Computer Science Hons and a BA Law Hons, and was a distinguished member of technical staff (DMTS) at Alcatel; he was also one of a select number of people in the global Alcatel organisation of over 130,000 employees to be invited to join the Technical Academy at the DMTS level. Formerly, Richard was Technical Director and Chief Technology Officer of Open Access and Chief Technical Architect for major projects in Australia and overseas including:
  • Telstra Ring Back Pricing, InfoFax and Pay-by-Phone and SAM systems;
  • IndoSAT, and Telcom Indonesia, Credit and Debit Calling Card System;
  • National Freight Rail communications control centre system;
  • State Rail Authority Platform Announcement System;
  • plus successful implementation of many similar critical installations.

Richard is the Technical Director, principal design architect and decision-maker for all technical matters. Richard provides guidance and support for all engineers in CAS.

Neville Buch – Non-Executive Director

Neville Buch has a B.Sc Hons in Electronic Engineering and a Masters Degree in Business Administration. He worked for Tyco International in Europe for 10 years as a Vice President responsible for global marketing, strategy and global customer relations and served as Vice Chairman of the Supervisory boards of Total Walther in Germany and Tyco Securité in France. Prior to leaving Australia Neville Buch was managing director of Wormald Australia and led the team at Wormald which was responsible for developing the communications and fire engineering systems for the Australian Submarine project. Neville plays a key role in strategy, business development and overseas market development at CAS..

General Manager

Our general manager has a Bachelor of Engineering Computer Science, and is responsible for the day-to-day general management of CAS. His role is to oversee and project manage all projects, large or small, including, co-ordination, planning and resolving technical issues. He has significant experience in the engineering, design and development of payment solutions, and works very closely with Richard Colley to ensure that all projects are implemented on time and within the agreed budget.

Project engineer – (B.Sc, Computer Science)

Our project engineer is a senior programming engineer with skills in programming in C, Java, Python and other language systems. He is also a smartcard systems designer and a significant contributor to smartcard security. Currently he provides technical support for SIM Manager and other Smart Silicon products, and has worked on the Anzac Ship to Shore Installation project for Computer Science, the Stock Market Information Distribution System for Australian Associated Press, the Bank Branch System for Barclays Bank, and a Geographical Management System for Scitec Communications.

Programming engineer – (B. Engineering – computer engineering)

Dominic is a programming engineer with skills in programming in C, Java, Python and other language systems. He specialises in Java in the Symbian Platform and low level encryption coding. Prior to joining CAS he worked as Squiz Technical Developer at Concord General Hospital, in the Art Gallery of NSW, and at the Hotel network he was the core developer of Mysource Matrix.

Programming engineer – (B. of Engineering, software)

Lawrence is a programming engineer with experience in C, Java, Python and other languages. He specialises in transaction systems and terminal low level coding supporting encryption engines.

Computer Engineer – (B. Eng)

Michael is a trained hardware and software engineer capable of programming in a number of languages (C, Java, Python). He specialises in firmware code, hardware designs and test regimes. He has been a significant contributor to new product designs at CAS. Previously he worked with Smart Silicon Systems and was responsible for both hardware and FirmWare Design.

CAS also has a number of junior engineering staff that are employed on a full time basis, plus a number of contract engineers that are employed on a contract-by-contract basis as they are required.
