CAS has recently been certified by Visa and Mastercard, and passed with a 100% security rating for design and maintenance of systems that process Credit Card and EFTPOS payments. These standards incorporate a strict set of guidelines for applications and network design, administration and maintenance of systems, together with internal procedures for change management, systems upgrades, and access to information.

As credit card fraud increased significantly around the world during the late 90’s, the credit card companies joined forces to set new international standards. The standards included certification for the payment gateway companies; however Visa and Mastercard also introduced an additional level of security called “Verified by Visa” and “Mastercard SecureCode”.

CASPad |
|
When the CASPad is used to process a Credit Card transaction, the card details are captured and encrypted by the CASPad before they are sent to the bank for processing. This is the safest means of capturing the credit card data, as the card details are not stored by the Merchant at any time, and therefore cannot be accessed by an unauthorised person. The CASPad also transmits the “Track 2” data from the card in an encrypted packet, which is only possible if the card is present at the time the transaction takes place.
