CAS and Telstra partner to provide Mobile Payments
Card Access Services (CAS) has partnered with Telstra to provide its mobile payment

platform and CASPAD portable card reader to the Australian market.

Re-branded Telstra Mobile Payments, the CAS solution provides the user with
the ability to take payments quickly and securely using their mobile phone
and CASPAD – renamed the “T-Pad”, wherever there is Telstra Next-G
coverage. Transactions are submitted to the financial institution via the
CAS ETX Payment Gateway and money is transferred overnight into the
customer’s account allowing them to improve their cash flow and simplify
their accounts reconciliation process.

Telstra will begin its marketing campaign, promotion and rollout of the
Telstra Mobile Payments solution to its shops, dealer channels and
portfolio managers in November 2007.

The CAS solution provides yet another way for Telstra to further
differentiate itself in the market and promote the wide range of Telstra
handsets and services.

COMPANY PROFILE

Open Access Systems was an organisation founded in Perth in 1986 to deliver telecommunication and IVR payment solutions primarily to financial organisations. The company developed significant intellectual property around IVR payment solutions and focused mainly on turnkey solutions. During that period the company launched the first Telecom Australia approved IVR solution and built the credit union ATM network in Western Australia.

When an opportunity emerged to deliver hosted solutions, the management of Open Access Systems formed Card Access Services, as a subsidiary of Open Access Systems, to deliver hosted solutions to those customers too small, or unwilling to invest in turnkey solutions. In 1997 Open Access Systems was sold and still operates as a standalone company in the IVR market today.

Card Access Services, under the management of the founders of Open Access Systems, continued the Card Access Services business as a hosted service with a particular focus on the evolving e-commerce market.

The company has evolved through research and development led organic growth and a disciplined acquisition strategy. The businesses acquired to date include the "bank terminal product business" from Keycorp and Smart Silicon Systems from Julia Corporation.

These two acquisitions were made to acquire strategically important technology and capabilities and to enhance the product offering required to deliver the desired strategic capability:

Card Access Services seeks to deliver a flexible range of products, services and solutions to manage access, interactions and transactions securely in accordance with prescribed standards and business rules.

Card Access Services is still seeking synergistic acquisitions and continues to develop technology to fully execute its strategic plan.
